How do I
volunteer for the Cedar Hill Fire Protection District?
Answer:
First you need to stop by
the office during regular business hours to pick up an application.
Return the application after you have filled it out completely along
with your signed records check form. Your application will be
reviewed and you will be interviewed. The Board of Directors
will make the final decision if you are selected as an eligible
applicant. You then will be notified if you have or have not
been selected to become a member.
Question: Can
I fill out an application for full time employment with the
Cedar Hill Fire Protection District?
Answer:
We are not
currently accepting applications for full time employment. When
we are accepting applications the position will be advertised in
the local paper as well as on our website.
Question:
Can I burn
brush today?
Answer:
We like for
you to call the firehouse first. However we understand that we
might not be there to answer your call. The burning regulations
for Missouri are controlled by the Missouri Department of
Natural Resources.

for the link to their page. The basic regulations on open
burning is that it is allowed between September 16 to April 14
every year. Fires must not exceed 4 foot by 4 foot in size.
Fires must not be started until 10:00am and must be extinguished
by 4:00pm. They must be attended at all times. They also may
only contain natural vegetation. Wind speeds should be below
15mph. Any violation of MoDNR regulations can bring a fine up
to $20,000.

When do I need
a residential building permit?
Answer:
All new
residential construction requires a permit. This includes new
additions to an existing home and outbuildings over 180
square feet in size. Please contact the Fire Marshal's office
for information about new residential construction.
Question:
Do you require
residential occupancy inspections on existing construction?
Answer:
We currently
do not perform inspections on existing residential construction.

What do I need
to open a new business in your fire district?
Answer:
If your
business is going to require a new building or if you will be
remodeling an existing structure you will need to apply for a
building permit from the fire department. If you business is
going in an existing structure you will need to apply for an
occupancy permit from the fire department. Please contact the
